Throwback Thursday #1

What more appropriate place for the Throwback Thursday meme than on a genealogy/old photographs blog?

This is me, back when we lived in La Plata, MD.  I’m sure that acid wash denim I’m sitting on would give many of you no problems with dating this photo!

Fat Man's Misery

This is a great snapshot of three young people at Fat Man’s Misery (in Zion National Park, Utah) in 1924.  I assume the names on the back are listed in the order the people are situated in the photo, so from left to right it would appear to be:
Lonnie McClelland
Jewell Miller
Pearl Brannon
Pearl’s name is also written in pencil on the back, so perhaps each of them had a copy of the photo, and this one was hers?  Lonnie seems pretty well-dressed for hanging out around canyons…maybe it’s a 1920s thing?

Mrs Kraft

Mrs Kraft tells us this photo was taken Easter morning, and originally this was posted to my Tumblr on Easter weekend; now that I'm moving here, though, the post date is not as apropos.  Ah well.

I've no idea where this photo was taken, nor do I know in what year it was taken, but if you recognize Mrs Kraft here, please feel free to share what information you have about her!

You may notice a small blurred person at the bottom left - no, that is not a ghost!  Mrs Kraft tells us this is someone named Alice, who appears either to have wanted in or out of the picture, but didn't quite make it...

The inscription on the back of the photo reads as follows:

Me, 145 lbs just think.  and real lillies, taken Easter morning.  Thes [sic] took first prize at the flower show here.
